We have been in the business of operating Duty-Free outlets since 1989. It is under the helm of our parent company Agate Duty Free we pioneered the concept of “Duty-Free Plaza” in Subang International Airport, Malaysia (as it was known then) in 1989.
It was a novel idea, approved by YAB Tun Dr.
Mahathir Mohammed who was then the fourth Prime Minister of Malaysia.
We successfully operated the duty-free outlet in Subang International Airport until the change took place to shift operations to Kuala Lumpur International Airport in 1996.
Today, we are a leading travel retailer and trading company with a diverse portfolio of lifestyle and travel retail businesses delivering a comprehensive range of services from Duty-Free Outlet, Duty-Free Import/Export, Logistics and Warehousing.

CHINA (HONG KONG). Plus Max Duty free has been awarded the duty free retail concession for the Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal at Sheung Wan, Hong Kong.

The company plans to open three stores (one in departures and two in arrivals) on the Hong Kong side of the terminal by early November. The offer will complement Plus Max Duty Free’s duty free operations in Malaysia and India.

Plus Max Managing Director Dato Prakadeesh Kumar pledged to offer Macau-bound passengers a wide range of liquor, confectionery, beauty items and cigarettes, promising a “world-class duty free experience”.

The Hong Kong-Macau Ferry Terminal handled almost 17 million passengers last year.
